It was a downhill to forget for Sofia Goggia, who confirmed the difficulties encountered in the last practice sessions by finishing in 16th place almost two seconds behind Breezy Johnson, winner of the gold medal. At the end of the race, the skier from Bergamo bluntly analyzed her own performance.

"I already knew in the past days that it would be a very difficult downhill for me. At the same time, I believe that to be complete, you have to be able to do everything well: this slope è ideal for sliders, I am a bit’ more technical. Actually; today I never felt the right feeling, from the first gate. It’ a track that doesn’ t forgive the slightest mistake and instead I didn’ t get one right. I had such a bad feeling that I missed even the only two technical turns where I could try to do something" began the skier from Bergamo to the official channels of the "FISI".

"After the SuperG I had so much regret and so much anger becauseé I knew I threw away a medal. Today, however, è different becauseé this slope was more suitable for other types of downhillers and I skied badly from the first gate. So all that remains is to shrug and look forward" added the blue skier.

"We hope to do well in the giant and maybe also in the combined, for which we will decide in the coming days whether to participate or not, as it could be an opportunity to understand even better track and set-up" concluded Sofia Goggia.
