Sunday there'è Trapani Shark-Varese

Reduced by four consecutive defeats against Pistoia, Brescia, Olimpia Milano and Trento, Openjobmetis Varese aims to win the next championship game to avoid being caught up by the teams in the relegation zone: on the road of the biancorossi there'è però the Trapani Shark, one of the surprises of this championship. Varese coach Giannis Kastritis, però has high expectations.

"We will play against a very competitive and extremely strong team like Trapani,” he said, “one of the best at scoring on the counterattack and skilled at putting a lot of pressure on the ball to create turnovers for opposing lineups. Our defensive approach will have to come not only from our defensive attitude, but also from our offense".

"We will have to avoid lost balls that could allow them to score easy baskets,” added the Greek coach. “In general, this è the first real opportunity we have to demonstrate the approach and commitment that we will then have to put in all the other games as well. I am very pleased with how the boys have worked these last few days and excited to start".

"The most important things for me and for us right now are the’approach to the competition and the process,” Kastritis further explained; è it is true that we need a win, but first of all we need to establish our rules, our culture, play together the way we want to play. The sooner we can do these things the better it will be.

"Soì by doing that sooner or later the wins will also come. According to our philosophy, the most important things are the process, the way we play and seeing how willing the players are to sacrifice and help each other. If we do thatì, at the end of the game, we will look at the result and see if we are happy and satisfied" concluded the coach of Openjobmetis Varese.
