Anna Kalinskaya is pawing ahead of her debut in the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, Calif. After a difficult first two months of the year in Australia and the Middle East, the Russian tennis player is looking forward to a fresh start in her beloved United States: after Indian Wells è she is also scheduled to play the "home" tournament, in Miami.
On Instagram Kalinskaya posted a story with a picture of a tournament poster with her image, and the emoticon of her face with little hearts. Having dropped to 34th in the WTA rankings after a forgettable start to the year, the Muscovite is planning her redemption in the coming weeks.
Kalinskaya will take the court on Thursday against U.S. Alycia Parks, who was defeated twice in the only two previous matches in the past, one just in Indian Wells in 2023. The Russian will face the tournament without Jannik Sinner, who is currently suspended è remaining in Italy, but with the inseparable Patricia Tarabini, her longtime Argentine coach.
