Jose Mourinho reflects on the future: wink at Scotland

Could Mourinho’s next adventure be in Scotland?
José Mourinho may in the future embark on a new adventure in an unexpected league: Scotland. Although the Portuguese coach is currently busy on the bench of Fenerbahçe in Turkey, his ties to Scottish soccer seem particularly strong. In the press conference held Wednesday, on the eve of the Europa League round of 16 first leg match against Rangers, the former Roma and Inter Milan coach left the door open to a future in Scotland, although he would not officially confirm this possibility. His commitment to Fenerbahçe remains a priority, but the passion for soccer he has found in Scotland could one day lead him to coach lì.
On his future, the Special One reiterated that, at the moment, what matters è is the present with the Turkish club. The Portuguese has a contract in Turkey that expires in a year, but he stressed that his focus è is all about the team’s results, not his own future plans. What he is interested in è is that Fenerbahçe continue to achieve good results and continue on its path in Europe.
Mourinho then spoke about his connections with Scotland: "I had the opportunity to attend coaching courses in Scotland, which was a very unique experience. I met amazing people and learned so many interesting things. When young coaches ask me where they should start their journey, I always recommend Scotland. At the moment I cannot say that I coach there, because I am engaged in a job that gives me a lot of satisfaction and requires my full dedication. However, who canò say, maybe in the future. People tend to think that the Scottish league is just a challenge between two teams, but what really is there'è è an incredible passion. And passion for soccer, for me, è everything. Playing in empty stadiums or in competitions where that passion is missing, for me, would have no meaning".
During the interview, Mourinho reflected on his experience in Turkey, admitting that, at first, he did not know much about Turkish soccer. However, once he arrived in Istanbul, he è faced a far greater challenge than he expected. The Setubal coach explained that he had made a promise to Fenerbahçe fans, that of fighting with all his might for the team. A promise that, so far, è has been successfully kept: the team has not suffered defeats in 18 consecutive matches, an achievement the Lusitanian attributes to the team's humility and team spirit.
