For Filippo Ganna, Jonathan Milan è "the strongest sprinter in the world"

.

Satisfied with his success in the time trial that, on Monday, kicked off the 2025 edition of the Tirreno-Adriatico, Filippo Ganna is already projecting himself toward the second stage, which from Camaiore will take the peloton to Follonica on Tuesday, thus passing from the province of Lucca to that of Grosseto: a stage that, for the first blue jersey of this year, has a main favorite.

"Tomorrow will be a stage for sprinters, and there's at the start what I consider to be the strongest in the world, Jonathan Milan, who will want to confirm the successes achieved here last year – said the champion from Verbania, praising in no uncertain terms the one who more times'was his national teammate on the track – What will he do tomorrow? He will tryò to stay out of trouble and avoid unnecessary risks".

Ganna and Milan have shared very important successes, such as the team pursuit at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games (held due Covid in the following summer) and at the World Championships in Roubaix in October 2021, a few months after the Five Circles event. Their two names are among those that marked Italy's golden summer, never so successful in the most disparate sports competitions.

On the road, excluding the blue discourse, the two have never raced for the same team: Ganna currently races since 2019 for Ineos and previously wore the uniforms of Viris Vigevano, Lampre, Team Colpack, UAE Emirates and Sky, while Milan raced for Cycling Team Friuli and Bahrain, before switching in 2024 to Lidl-Trek.
