In the semifinals go Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova

No dice. Anna Kalinskaya’s dream of celebrating her fourth WTA doubles title è vanished again. The Russian, paired with Caty McNally, è was eliminated in the quarterfinals in Indian Wells by the duo of Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova.

The Match è was very hard fought and decided by details. In the first set, the Kalinskaya-McNally pair è surrendered on the score of 6-4. Second partial set in the sign of’balance. Set decided at the tie-break where the opponents did practically nothing wrong, imposing themselves 7-1.

Into the semifinals, therefore, go Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova. They will play for access to the grand final against the Zhang-Hsieh pair. Anna Kalinskaya è already forced to look ahead. So much regret for the elimination but there's also satisfaction at having reached at least the quarterfinals in the doubles. To date, the Russian tennis player has won only three matches out of eight played in singles matches.

The 26-year-old Russian is struggling a lot at this early stage of the season, especially in singles. A quarterfinal, albeit in doubles, è a result that could bring her morale ahead of upcoming dates on the circuit. The ’goal è always the same: to try to win a title in singles and, given the results, do well in doubles as well, perhaps again together with Caty McNally.
