Rory McIlroy has captured the 51st edition of The Players Championship. In Florida, the Northern Irishman got the better of American John Michael Spaun Jr after a three-hole playoff, ending the tournament with a score of 276 strokes (-12).
After his success in the’AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, rising to 20thº place on the list of the most successful in the history of the circuit, good Rory now aims to break the fast in majors, which has lasted since 2014, and complete the Grand Slam at The Masters, scheduled for April 10-13 in Augusta.
In Ponte Vedra Beach, the current world No. 2 won The Players for the second time, replicating her 2019 triumph. With this victory, the 28ª in her career on the PGA Tour, she collected $4.5 million, part of the $25 million total prize pool.
