Novak Djokovic’s match in Miami postponed

No night matches in Miami and so the quarterfinal match between Novak Djokovic and Sebastian Korda, which was supposed to be played in the Italian night (after 11 p.m. in Miami) has been postponed until today.
The Atp rule preventing a match from starting after 11 p.m. has in fact been enforced. Nole and the American were supposed to play each other ‘no later than’8:30 p.m. local time, but the previous four matches have gone on for long.
“In accordance with Atp rules that do not allow a match to go on court after 11 p.m., the match between Djokovic and Korda will be played on Thursday (today, ed.) and will be the third match of the day” reads the note posted on the tournament website.
The rule had been introduced after the Sinner affair in Paris Bercy 2023, with the Italian finishing his match at 2.25 a.m. and being forced to retire the next day.
