Paolo Simoncelli in Repubblica has returned to talk about Jorge Martin’s frightening accident, revealing how it immediately brought to his mind the tragedy in which his son Marco lost his life, on October 23, 14 years ago.
“Jorge Martin was very unfortunate, however, everything is relative. Something very similar happened to him in Qatar to what happened in 2011 to my Marco, only Di Giannantonio ran his wheel over the hump of his suit”.
“A few inches further and he would have been hit on the neck as well. Life is a matter of inches. And when certain things happen, there is nothing you can do about it”.
Martin got away ’only” with 11 rib fractures but when rehabilitation is over he will be able to get back in the saddle.
