Milan, special shirt with Bologna for Mother’s Day

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Milan is following up on a new tradition inaugurated last year as a first in Italian football. On the anniversary weekend, in fact, the players of the men’s first team will take the field wearing their maternal surname on their game jerseys, instead of the one usually used.
The initiative is scheduled to kick off in the Serie A match on Friday, May 9 against Bologna, when the players’ maternal surnames will characterize the announcement of the Milan‘s official lineup on big screens and through the voice of the speaker. The same big screens and LEDs inside and outside the San Siro, thanks to a special version of the Rossoneri photo wall, will be enlivened by greeting graphics and the many pictures of mothers sent to the club by soccer players, legends and Milan fans from around the world. Invitations to watch the match from the stadium’s VIP Lounge will also be reserved for couples of Rossoneri moms and children.
The initiative will involve the many souls of the Rossoneri family, from the players to the more than 500 million Rossoneri fans worldwide, also living on all the Club’s digital touchpoints with dedicated graphics and photo and video content. Among others, the Men’s First Team, Milan Futuro, the Youth Sector and the Women’s First Team, which will observe a rest day on the final weekend of the championship, will celebrate the role of the mother. The coach of the men’s First Team, Sérgio Conceição, will also star in a special emotional content dedicated to the occasion.
As part of the initiative, Milan Foundation will support with a fundraiser about 70 young teenage mothers followed by the parenting accompaniment program promoted at the Hub Spazio Indifesa in the Gallaratese neighborhood of Milan, managed by Terre des Hommes and opened in 2021 thanks precisely to the Foundation’s contribution. Part of the proceeds from the auctions for the jerseys worn on the field by the players and for the “Get on the Field as a Mascot” experiences, generously made available by ComAve, AC Milan’s Global Partner and Shopping Experience Platform Partner, will be allocated to the collection. Purchases of garments from the new women’s collection made in the Club’s physical and online stores from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 11, and entrance tickets for the Mondo Milan Museum on the Milan-Bologna matchday will also contribute part of the proceeds to the collection. Some children from the Hub Spazio Indifesa program supported by Milan Foundation will also have the special opportunity to enter the field with the players before Friday’s match.
Through this integrated initiative, the entire Rossoneri family wants to thank those who have supported us every day and taught respect, courage and the strength to believe in our dreams. On the field, as in life.
