Olimpia Milano: Messina gets a new sports director

L’Olimpia Milano is busy preparing as best as possible for the playoffs. Already certain of the fifth place finish in the regular season, the’EA7 is aiming for an important season finale, that is, to win the Scudetto, to avoid what would be, to all intents and purposes, a half-failure. Blame it on so many injuries and a few unwise market choices.

Think of Dimitrijevic, now on the fringes of the roster. Or, again, the difficulties of Gillespie. In order to have even more expertise in the market, the Milanese company seems determined to bring in a new element in the management team to deal mainly with market-related issues.

The right name would be Baiesi, a sports director who has done so well in Germany (first operating for Bamberg and later with Bayern Munich) and who also has a history in the NBA world with Detroit Pistons and New Jersey Nets.

Baiesi, should the’officiality arrive, would take the place of Vacirca who chose to accept the proposal from Tortona (where he will serve as general manager). Baiesi is expected to sign a one-year agreement and, of course, he will always refer to Messina, who, as is well known, besides being the coach of Olimpia Milano, also plays the role of president.
