Stephan Lichtsteiner returned to speak to Gazzetta dello Sport: “Which Scudetto did I enjoy the most? It may seem trivial, but they are really all the same. Sometimes it seemed like it was easy for us, but it never is because mentally you feel you have to win it. In 2015-16 the comeback was incredible: after Cuadrado’s goal in the derby a very long series of consecutive wins began. It was no ordinary thing. The last Scudetto, that is, the 2017-18 one, was the most suffered: we were good but not perfect and Napoli was on our back. I enjoyed it, even though I knew I was going to leave”.

“The final in Berlin? We were so close, after Morata’s equalizer we could have gone ahead. The bit of luck that we sometimes had in the league we never had in Europe. But we should not look for alibis, rather understand who we lost the finals against: the Barcelona of Messi, Suarez and Neymar, the Real Madrid of Ronaldo. With all due respect to other teams, it is not the same thing”.

“Why did I say no to Inter? Out of seriousness: I love Juve and so I could not play for Inter. Now I suffer as a fan, but soon we will return to winning”.
