Justine Henin brutally honest about Jannik Sinner

For the first time in his career, Jannik Sinner is among the top four at the Internazionali d’Italia, a result that not everyone had counted on given that the South Tyrolean had not played a match in the three months prior to the Rome tournament and, moreover, had not even been able to train on the tennis court in the first weeks of the suspension agreed upon with Wada for the so-called case-Clostebol.
The will for revenge, so far, has been expressed on the clay of the Foro Italico in the first four matches played by the world number 1, who has not even dropped a set to Mariano Navone, Jesper de Jong, Francisco Cerundolo and Casper Ruud. The latter even had to settle for just one game in the 6-0, 6-1 final: a result that impressed many insiders, including former WTA No. 1 Justine Henin.
“Jannik Sinner is at the peak of his physical condition – the four-time Roland Garros champion told ‘Eurosport France’ E’he arrived fresh in Rome, but his ability to readjust right away was also incredible. From his first match he showed great intelligence, now it has to be seen in comparison with other styles of play but the message he sent to his opponents is clear: he wants to bite the world”.
Jannik Sinner, 23, has been No. 1 in the ATP rankings for eleven months and five days, an achievement he achieved on June 20, 2024, and has maintained this season despite the fact that his suspension has prevented him from participating in tournaments such as Indian Wells, Miami, and Madrid. His goal is to regain his best condition to attempt the’assault on Roland Garros.
