Antoine Kombouaré and Nantes to the credits
Antoine Kombouaré and Nantes are in the closing credits. Yellow-green general manager Franck Kita has notified the 61-year-old coach of the end of his tenure, which was to last until 2026.
A decision that reflects the club’s desire to turn over a new leaf after a disappointing season in which the Canaries were saved only on the last day, finishing in 13th place.
It is not yet known who will take the place of the seasoned coach, as the Nantes management seems to want to take time to evaluate the various profiles and options available.
This marks the end of the second Kombouaré era (March 2024 – May 2025), after a first stint at the helm of the club (February 2021 – May 2023) embellished by winning the French Cup in 2022 (1-0 against Nice).
