Ferrari’s run-up also in the Formula 1 Barcelona Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton will start from fifth on the grid, while Charles Leclerc will start from seventh. The Monegasque made only one attempt in Q3, and after qualifying he explains why: a strategy ahead of the race.

“The responsibility is mine today, however, I am quite happy with our tire choice for tomorrow. The choice to do the lap earlier was totally mine. It was probably right to wait. The team had proposed to me several times to do a lap with the one-lap used soft, but I wanted to save it for tomorrow”s race because I think it brings a big advantage”.

“Whether it will pay off or not, we will talk about it tomorrow night. Maybe maybe I made a mistake. We will see”, concluded Leclerc, who is looking to surprise rivals, starting with his teammate Hamilton.

“For some reason in qualifying we don’t have the car to fight for pole – said Lewis. Red Bull and McLaren in particular are extremely fast on the dry lap, however, I think our race pace is at a higher level. Getting on the podium is my goal and for that we will need to be aggressive even from the first corner”.
