Al-Hilal’s maxi bid for Osimhen: 70 million to Napoli

After weeks of contacts and soundings, Al-Hilal is breaking the deadlock and submitting an official bid for Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian center forward who has just returned from an extraordinary season on loan at Galatasaray, with 37 goals in 41 appearances. The assault comes directly from Saudi Arabia, where sporting ambition knows no financial limits.
The offer of the Arab club, fresh from the arrival of Simone Inzaghi on the bench, is impressive: 65 million euros as a fixed part plus 5 million in bonuses, for a total of 70 million. A figure that is significantly close to the 75 million rescission clause valid only for foreign countries, set by De Laurentiis at the time of Osimhen’s contract renewal before he left for Istanbul.
Napoli, aware that the departure of its bomber could free up fundamental resources for an ambitious market, will carefully evaluate. Indeed, the transfer would allow the Azzurri club to finance new graft, as promised by President De Laurentiis himself to Antonio Conte, who aims to consolidate a competitive team after winning the fourth Scudetto in Napoli’s history.
Now, however, the ball is in the player’s court. Osimhen has already been personally contacted by Simone Inzaghi, who envisions him paired with Aleksandar Mitrovic to build a devastating attack. L’Al-Hilal, meanwhile, confirms itself as one of the main forces in the new Saudi football course, having already snatched from Serie A such star players as Kalidou Koulibaly, Joao Cancelo and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Also in the crosshairs are Theo Hernandez and Ederson.
It remains to be seen whether the Nigerian will be willing to leave Europe for good to accept Al-Hilal’s court and become the new star of Saudi soccer.
