Carlos Alcaraz reached the semifinals of Roland Garros thanks to the withdrawal of Lorenzo Musetti, who raised the white flag at the start of the fourth set after the world number two was leading by a set (2-1) and a break in the fourth set (2-0).

“Winning like this is not pleasant – admitted the Murcian at the end of the match -. Musetti has had a fantastic season on clay. He is one of the few in the last 30 years to have reached at least the semifinals in all the important events on clay. I wish him the best, I hope he can recover quickly and that we can soon return to enjoy his tennis”.

“The first two sets were very tough, Lorenzo was playing great tennis– added the defending champion in Paris -. Winning the second set was a relief, I had to try to be aggressive and always push him to the limit, preventing him from playing his tennis. Then I started to see things more clearly”.

Closing on the&#8217other semifinal that will see Jannik Sinner opposing Novak Djokovic: “Of course I will watch it, I won&#8217t miss it. It is one of the best challenges we can have in tennis today, I will enjoy it. I am a great lover of tennis, we will all enjoy the show: it will be a beautiful match”.
