The defeat in the Roland Garros final still hurts. Jannik Sinner fought like a lion, coming close to victory against Carlos Alcaraz but, in the end, had to raise the white flag. Still, the performance was more than positive. Two finals in a row, on clay (Rome and Paris), after a three-month suspension, is not bad at all, indeed…

“I think it was also a surprise for him to play two finals on clay after returning from disqualification: it means that from a mental point of view he has completely overcome the trauma of the Clostebol case“ the words of Paolo Bertolucci to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Now, however, there is to focus on the season on grass and, in particular, on Wimbledon. In 2023, Jannik Sinner made the semifinals; this year he is aiming to do better. The favorite, for a change, answers to the name of Carlos Alcaraz, defending champion.

Paolo Bertolucci has some advice for the’current world number one ahead of the Wimbledon clay date: “From a technical point of view, at Wimbledon, Jannik will have to raise the percentage of first balls in play… On the’grass, in context, it will become useful in some circumstances to use serve and volley”. Former tennis player and now respected pundit Paolo Bertolucci believes that, at Wimbledon, “… Sinner will have to be considered a slight favorite”.
