Club World Cup: PSG beaten by Botafogo, ok l'Atletico Madrid

The excitement continues in the Club World Cup. Two matches played on the Italian night. After having gained with the’Atletico Madrid, surprisingly, PSG loses the challenge with Botafogo. Igor Jesus’ goal in the first half was decisive. Excellent collective performance by the Brazilians that put the European champions with their backs against the wall. To pass the round, they will have to beat the Seattle Sunders in the last match of Group B.

In the post-match, Luis Enrique analyzed his team’s defeat this way: “Every team is motivated, especially when they face ours. We struggled against their defense. I think Botafogo is one of the best defenses in the’entire tournament” his words reported by ESPN.

First smile for Atletico Madrid, which, having archived the heavy defeat to PSG, disposed of the Seattle Sunders 3-1. The goals for the colchoneros were scored by Barrios (double) and Witsel. For the Sunders, the flagship goal bore the signature of Rusnak. Thanks to this success, Atletico Madrid is back in the race and will play for qualification in the last match against Botafogo, now on six points.

Today’s schedule features Benfica–Auckland City (6 p.m. Italian time). In the evening, the big match Chelsea–Flamengo. In the Italian night, however, LAFC-Esperance and, most importantly, the super match between Bayern Munich and Boca Juniors.
