Rafael Leão is more than ever at the center of the Rossoneri universe. After the sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City for a total sum of about 70 million euros (including bonuses), Milan finds itself having to redefine its technical hierarchies. With the Dutchman’s farewell, it is Leão who has to assume the role of leader and dragger under the new technical management of Massimiliano Allegri. However, the talented Portuguese continues to attract the attentions of top clubs in Europe and beyond, with Bayern Munich rearing its head again and looking ready to get serious.

The Bavarians are monitoring Leão’s situation with great interest after the main target, Nico Williams, expressed willingness to move to Barcelona. With Athletic Bilbao still demanding the full €58 million rescission clause plus tax, Bayern is considering concrete alternatives. And that’s where Leão, a profile that Munich has long liked, comes in.

Bayern’s strategy is defined: if by the end of June or beginning of July Barcelona really closes for Williams, the Germans will turn decisively on Leão. Ready to put a sum on the plate that could range between 75 and 85 million euros. An important sum, but one that would not be enough to convince Milan.

The position of the Rossoneri club is clear: no offer will be accepted below 100 million euros. For sporting director Igli Tare and Allegri, Leão is the technical and mental pillar on which to rebuild the team in a crucial year, without European cups but with the ambition to return to the top.
