Mattia Bellucci spoke in a press conference after the first success of his career in the Wimbledon main draw: “Almost perfect match, I would say no, in response I could have handled better and, not only in the first set, there were many untaken opportunities”.

“On serve I felt good credit also to the focus I am trying to bring on this surface because it is an important start for my game. I am sorry about the not excellent performance from the back court but I am more satisfied with the fact that, until recently, after a first set lost like that I would have had complications during the match on an emotional level.”

“Right now, in terms of ranking, I have no specific goals. Pra I want to find continuity at a higher level. Now the bar has been raised and the opportunities during matches are decreasing. It’s all proportionate but I have to continue on this path. Grinding matches and gaining experience.”

Lehecka will be his next opponent: “I know him but in no detail, so we will study him carefully. I saw match the match with De Minaur in London and he was dominant. He can serve in a crazy way, we will see”.
