Alessandro Pajola also talked about his future in the long interview he granted to Sportweek: “The rumors are spread to me by my friends: I stay out of these things, I don’t want to get into them. My prosecutors deal with it, and they haven’t told me anything, at least so far, so I laugh about it. My philosophy is to live for the day, thinking about the present. I have a contract that binds me to Virtus until next year, I am in no hurry to find something”.

“Nba? I mean, we are basketball players, we are professionals, and what I am interested in is playing and having fun. It&#8217s clear that one can also see it as a life experience, so even just from that point of view, something positive could come out of it. And anyway, when you take that kind of train, no one ever tells you whether you will play 5, 20 or 30 minutes, or even set foot on the field”.

.

“Sometimes lies are told, sometimes the truth: it is up to you to believe it or not. The Nba is a dream and this is coming from someone who has never dreamed of it who knows how much. Getting there, though, would be something really…can I say epic. So I would go there thinking: “Okay, it&#8220s all in my hands now, I have to play my chances, work my butt off, work to prove that I can belong even at this level here”.

Pajola also recounted why he has always loved defenders more than forwards: “As a child I played soccer with friends and every time the dilemma was about who should be in goal. No one wanted to go but me. I really enjoyed it, I liked avoiding goals, blocking the ball on the line while the attacker was already cheering. Defending is a vocation that perhaps reflects my character: I am a generous person, I like to make myself available to others, to help, to sacrifice myself for the good of the group”.
