After overcoming, not without difficulty, Ariel Behar and Joran Vliegen in the first round, Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori continue their dream at Wimbledon by facing the duo formed by Czech Adam Pavlasek and Polish Jan Zielinski in the second round of the men’s competition. The Italian pair is seeded No. 7 in the tournament.

The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 5, no earlier than 1:30 p.m. Italian time. The venue for the challenge will be Court 8, with only one match preceding the one involving the two Italians: at 12 p.m. Italian time, the pair consisting of Kamilla Rakhimova and Anna Siskova and the pair consisting of Sorana Cirstea and Anna Kalinskaya will face each other in the women’s doubles.

The Italian pair will play the women’s doubles.

In their previous match against Behar/Vliegen, Bolelli and Vavassori won in two sets, coming out on top in both fractions on tie-break: 7-6(5), 7-6(3) the final score, in one’hour and three quarters of play. Pavlasek and Zielinski also beat Santiago Gomez and Austin Krajicek in two sets that ended in a tie-break: 7-6(6), 7-6(4) the score.

At the Grand Slam level, Simone Bolelli boasts one success, at the 2015 Australian Open, along with Fabio Fognini: on that occasion, the two Italians beat the French pair composed of Pierre Hughes-Herbert and Nicolas Mahut with a double 6-4. Andrea Vavassori, on the other hand, came close three times, losing in the finals at the Australian Open 2024 and 2025 and at the last Roland Garros, again paired with Bolelli. He did, however, win mixed doubles in 2024 at the US Open and in 2025 in Paris, paired with Sara Errani.
