Max Verstappen attacks race management: "They won’t let us race in the wet anymore"

Max Verstappen, undoubtedly also out of frustration with fourth place, attacked the race direction of the Belgian Grand Prix, which postponed the start at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit by an hour and twenty. Here are the words of the four-time world champion.
“Conservative race direction? I would say it was a lot. We should have started right away, because it wasn’t raining. We could have stayed behind the Safety Car for 3-4 laps and then we could have started. We talked and they told us they would be more cautious, but this way they were too extreme. Also because this way you can’t have a wet race anymore.”
“We did a few laps on intermediate tires and then immediately put on slicks. It shouldn’t go like that. With the intermediates, we made a certain setup choice and then they allowed us to drive in almost slick conditions. That was a little bit disappointing because we talked, after Silverstone, about’being a little bit more cautious, but that was the other extreme for me.”
“The choice we made with the car setup was the wrong one, because they didn’t allow us to run in the wet. Once we had dry tires, we were simply too slow on the straights. That, with all the general balancing problems I have with this car, just made everything”
worse.
