Inter has identified Tarik Muharemovic as the ideal profile to lead the defensive revolution planned for next season. The Bosnian center-back, currently with Sassuolo, is not only a market target but a real strategic priority for Marotta and Ausilio. With a backroom in need of fresh and futuristic forces to balance the experience of the senators, the class of 2003 has stood out for his personality and physical gifts, convincing the Nerazzurri management to break the hesitations and take the first concrete steps to bring him to San Siro.

According to the latest speculation relaunched by Gazzetta dello Sport, the Viale della Liberazione club would already have the “yes” of the player. An informal principle of agreement would even exist between Muharemovic’s entourage and Inter for a five-year contract, with expiration set for June 30, 2031. The proposed salary would be in line with the average Nerazzurri payroll, a sign that the club is willing to bet on him not as a mere extra, but as a potential starter. Blinding the deal with the player is a key tactical move to get ahead of the competition and put pressure on the neroverde club.

Despite the agreement with the defender, the road to white smoke remains uphill due to Sassuolo’s resistance. CEO Giovanni Carnevali is known to be a tough negotiator, and in this case his position is further stiffened by a specific clause: Juventus holds 50 percent on the Bosnian’s future resale. This means that Sassuolo, in order to collect a satisfactory sum, will necessarily have to raise its demands, making the operation economically burdensome for Inter’s coffers.

The auction base set by the Emiliani starts at between 20 and 25 million euros, but the price is bound to rise. Inter’s fear is the opening of an international auction or, worse, the inclusion of Juventus itself. The Bianconeri, in fact, boast a competitive advantage: they could decide to bring the defender home by giving up their percentage on the resale, effectively lowering the cost of the player’s name tag compared to any other suitors. Inter will therefore have to be quick to close the deal before the player’s value explodes further.
