Pep Guardiola ct of'Italy: important news from'England

The arrival of Pep Guardiola on the bench of the Italian national team is not a mirage but a concrete option, although still unlikely at the moment. From England come rumors about the Catalan coach’s farewell at the end of this season. According to rumors, Manchester City has already moved to replace the coach: the first choice would be Enzo Maresca, who has worked for years with Guardiola. The Catalan coach has a contract that is valid for one more season, but rumors of his departure are becoming more and more insistent: the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich man could leave even if he wins the Premier League title.
And the person directly involved does not rule out the Coverciano option. According to reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italian soccer always remains a fixed thought and a deep feeling for Manchester City’s Spanish coach. There are no misgivings that Guardiola would listen with interest to the proposal. At that point, all that would be left to do would be to cross our fingers that his evaluations of the offer would restore optimism and hope to our soccer movement.
Should he decide to leave City, his first desire would be to slow down the pace. The possibility of coaching a national team has been on his mind for some time: it would represent an ideal balance between the intense adrenaline of club soccer and the greater tranquility of a commitment with a selection. In the past, his main target was the England bench, but Thomas Tuchel has extended his contract until 2028, while Carlo Ancelotti is in the process of extending his deal with Brazil until 2030. To make the deal with the FIGC feasible, Guardiola would have to accept a lower salary than he currently receives. At Manchester City he earns about 24.8 million euros gross per year (around 14 million net plus bonuses).
Part of the salary could be covered by the national team’s technical sponsor. The key aspect remains the willingness to reach an agreement and, above all, the presentation of an ambitious and structured project, which includes the involvement of the former Bayern and Barcelona coach not only on the first team bench, but also in the coordination of the youth national teams and in the definition of an overall playing model.
The new president of the Federation, who will be elected next June 22 (the main candidates include Abete and Malagò) to replace the resigning Gravina, will have the task of identifying a successor on the Azzurri bench. Other options include Antonio Conte, Roberto Mancini and Massimiliano Allegri.
