The moment in Aston Martin’s house is not the best. In fact, after the first seasonal races, the British team occupies 11th place in the constructors’ championship with zero points, a result very far from the expectations of the beginning of the season.

The drivers’ standings confirm the team’s difficulties: both Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll have not yet managed to win points. Despite this complicated start, Lance Stroll wanted to send, through Marca, a positive message of confidence toward the team’s future: “We have to keep working and be confident even when the results don’t come.”

The Canadian driver then spoke admitted that it is Aston Martin is experiencing a moment of great frustration: “As drivers, we all want to fight in the top positions and when you go through difficult moments it frustrates you because the whole team works hard and wants more,” he said, “but these moments are also part of building something.”

In spite of this, the driver has great confidence in Adrian Newey, one of the most important men for the Aston Martin project: “We have the right person for this role. In fact, the driver recalled the successes achieved in the past by the cars designed by the very same Newey: “Many of the cars designed by Adrian Newey during the golden era of Sebastian Vettel were almost perfect.”

The Aston Martin standard bearer looks to the future with optimism: “I strongly believe in this project, even if we are going through a complicated moment -he concluded- the future is very promising and I want to overcome this difficult period and be part of the path we are building. Finally, the 27-year-old Canadian said it is only a matter of time: “We have all the elements to become a winning team, it’s just a matter of unleashing our full potential.”
