Novak Djokovic after the knockout is sharp on Jannik Sinner: "I’ll stop you right now…"

Novak Djokovic missed a great chance at Roland Garros: after Carlos Alcaraz’s forfeit and Jannik Sinner’s elimination it could really have been the right tournament to hit the coveted 25th career Slam, but things did not go as planned, and in the press conference after the defeat to Joao Fonseca he did not hide his bitterness.
In particular, Nole immediately stopped a reporter who asked him just about Alcaraz and Sinner and the faded Slam dream: “No, I’ll stop you right there. No really, I just lost in the third round, let’s talk about something else thank you. If it was the last tournament in Paris? I don’t know.”
Djokovic then analyzed the match he lost to the Brazilian rising star: “A tough loss for me, being ahead two sets to zero. But enormous credit must be given to Joao for really deserving to win the match. Without a doubt he was the better player in the important moments, in the crucial ones in the fourth and fifth sets.”
“Some were amazing exchanges and points and he just found incredible shots, lines. It was just unbelievable on his part and obviously it was not great for me to face a player playing at such a level. I don’t think I missed too much with my game but he was simply better.”
The 24-time Slam champion further congratulated Fonseca, who sends a signal to his circuit rivals with this victory: “I told him that he deserved to win and that he played an incredible match and should be proud of himself. I wished him good luck for the rest of the tournament, the level of tennis we saw him play created a lot of anticipation around him. Today we all saw why.”
