Raul Fernandez won the MotoGp Sprint Race at Mugello: the Spanish Trackhouse Racing rider, riding the Aprilia RS-GP 2026, confirmed the very good impressions aroused in qualifying (in fact, he had started from second position on the grid) by finishing ahead of everyone at the checkered flag, with just over a second on the official Aprilia of Jorge Martin and three seconds on the Team VR46 Ducati led by Fabio Di Giannantonio.

Just off the podium Marco Bezzecchi, with a gap of four and a half seconds from the winner. Behind him, detached in any case by nine seconds from Fernandez, the first official Ducati, that of Marc Marquez, dropped after a good start: the reigning world champion, back from his right foot injury and related operation, did not particularly shine but was common ahead of the Desmosedici of Team Gresini ridden by Fermin Aldeguer and teammate Pecco Bagnaia, who came in seventh place after starting sixth.

Out of the points zone were the other Italians: Luca Marini (Honda) finished 13th, while Michele Pirro, Alex Marquez’s replacement at Gresini, finished 18th, putting only Cal Crutchlow, 19th on his return to the Honda to replace Johann Zarco, behind him. Retired, however, were Franco Morbidelli (Ducati VR46) and Enea Bastianini (KTM Tech3), as well as Spaniard Joan Mir (Honda).

Raul Fernandez is on his first overall win in a Sprint Race: the Spaniard adds today’s victory to that of Sunday’s Phillip Island GP, so far his only victory in a long race in the premier class. In the overall standings, Marco Bezzecchi remains ahead of everyone with 148 points, followed by Jorge Martin at 136 and Fabio Di Giannantonio at 123: the three are the only riders so far in triple figures.
