Milan market, Mauricio Pochettino comes out of the closet

In a press conference in Fayetteville, Georgia, where the U.S. national team is preparing for the World Cup to be played at home, U.S. head coach Mauricio Pochettino also addressed the topic of his own professional future.
Interviewed on the rumors that link him to AC Milan, the Argentine coach did not rule out indirect contacts: “Have my agents talked to AC Milan? It’s possible, it’s part of their job. Our contract expires in July, after the World Cup, and it is normal for proposals to arrive. I have met with people linked to different clubs, but these are only informal conversations. In soccer we have friendships everywhere and my representatives work to identify the best opportunities for the future.”
Pochettino then firmly dismissed the insinuations of those who question his focus on his commitment to the United States, suggesting that he may be distracted by post-World Cup prospects: “Those who question my commitment only want to create controversy. We are totally focused on the World Cup.”
The coach’s statements, however, do not close the door on the Milan hypothesis. Indeed, the candidacy of the former Tottenham and PSG coach remains on the table, even if competition for the Rossoneri bench continues to be numerous.
