Milan market, positive meeting with Oliver Glasner but Cardinale holds back

Acc Milan is looking with growing interest at Oliver Glasner for the team’s technical leadership. The indications that have emerged from the meeting in recent hours in Germany with the former Crystal Palace coach are positive and fuel optimism on both sides. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri management has already made it known that more time will be needed before arriving at a final choice on the new coach. In fact, the strategy set by Gerry Cardinale follows a method very close to the U.S. models: direct comparisons with the candidates, in-depth analysis of the strengths and possible criticalities, and then proceeding with the agreement only after completing the evaluation of all the profiles taken into consideration.
The decision will also be influenced by the managerial structure that the club intends to adopt for the future. It remains to be seen, for example, whether Zlatan Ibrahimovic will play a central role in the project or whether Ralf Rangnick will be given a coordinating role. Similarly, Milan is reflecting on the structure of the sports area, considering both the inclusion of a sports director such as former Al-Ittihad Ramon Planes and a more essential organization.
At the moment, however, the biggest progress concerns Glasner himself. After about six hours of talks with the Rossoneri owner, the Austrian coach reportedly left the meeting with very positive feelings. This is not yet a final choice, but it represents a significant signal. The contacts between the parties continue steadily and the dialogue remains open.
At the same time, Milan continues to monitor other options. From the United States, where he is busy with the U.S. national team ahead of the home World Cup, Mauricio Pochettino confirmed the existence of initial contacts between his entourage and the Rossoneri club. In addition, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, thanks in part to relations with agent Rafaela Pimenta, is keeping alive the track leading to Arne Slot.
