A gift from Japan for Marcelo Nicola

Nutribullet Treviso continues to build its roster for next season, starting with a core group that has already been established and which Nicola has been able to utilize most effectively. The Veneto-based club has already re-signed Croswell, Macura, and Cappelletti, in addition to retaining Miaschi, Chillo, and Allinei.
This transfer window required no small amount of determination from the Treviso management, given the fierce competition that had developed around some of the roster’s prized assets. In particular, both Apu Udine and Pallacanestro Cantù had made aggressive moves for Macura, with the Brianza-based club led by the new duo of Frank Vitucci-Simone Giofrè, who had placed the American guard at the top of their wish list, buoyed by his extraordinary performances in the season finale, when he averaged 17.8 points over the last eleven games.
Croswell’s retention was by no means a foregone conclusion either. The Philadelphia big man, who arrived in January during the season with impressive stats—averaging 15.6 points and 6.0 rebounds—had attracted the attention of Tortona and Reggio Emilia, clubs ready to offer him a European showcase as well. Despite his stated love for the city and the team, the negotiations proved to be anything but simple. According to Area Pitturata, the key to convincing him to stay was Macura’s retention: the prospect of continuing to play alongside his teammate tipped the scales in favor of remaining in the Marca.
Management is now working to complete the foreign roster, and among the players monitored in recent weeks is L.J. Peak, an American forward born in 1996. The player is already familiar with the Italian league thanks to his stints with Pistoia and Varese between 2018 and 2020, before moving to Japan, where he has played for the past six seasons.
In the 2024/25 season, Peak played for the Koshigaya Alphas, averaging 14.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
