Turin Transfer Market: There’s a New Option for Goalkeeper

Among the players Torino is monitoring with the greatest interest is Wladimiro Falcone. The goalkeeper has already expressed his willingness to leave Lecce, and now that the Salento club’s management structure has been finalized, the conditions are in place to begin concrete negotiations.
The search for a new goalkeeper has become a top priority for sporting director Gianluca Petrachi. Last summer, Torino signed Franco Israel from Sporting for 4.5 million euros, but the Uruguayan goalkeeper has struggled immensely to settle in, making just 10 appearances across the league and the Coppa Italia. Alberto Paleari, a 33-year-old whose contract expires in 2027, has played in his place, but the need for a change in goal is clear to everyone.
In recent days, however, Federico Ravaglia’s candidacy has also gained traction. The goalkeeper, born in 1999, who came up through the ranks in Bologna and is currently under contract with the Rossoblù, has shown over the past season that he can be much more than just a backup between the posts.
The numbers, in fact, show that his role was anything but marginal: 17 appearances in Serie A, 5 in the Europa League, one in the Coppa Italia, and 2 in the Italian Super Cup, for a total of 25 official appearances. This performance has raised his profile on the transfer market and makes him a particularly attractive prospect for clubs seeking reliability and experience at the highest level.
Among Ravaglia’s European appearances are standout performances in far from easy situations: the goalkeeper started, among other matches, in the two-leg Europa League tie against Roma in the round of 16, and previously in the difficult away match in Vigo against Celta, when Bologna traveled to Spain with a roster decimated by injuries. These performances confirmed his ability to handle the pressure in decisive moments.
