Charles Leclerc returns to victory—the British Grand Prix is his! Hamilton also on the podium; Antonelli was unlucky

Charles Leclerc returns to victory in a Formula 1 Grand Prix nearly two years after his last win, climbing back onto the top step of the podium for the first time since October 2024, when he won in Texas. The Monegasque driver capitalized on an excellent start and an effective strategy, as well as the unfortunate mechanical failure that knocked Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli out of contention for the win (finishing only 16th). The drivers completed the final laps behind the Safety Car, which was deployed after Max Verstappen went off the track (resulting in his retirement).
Third place went to Lewis Hamilton, whose result was initially under review pending further investigation into his behavior while the yellow flag was displayed. Regardless of the British driver’s result, Sunday at Silverstone brought things full circle for Ferrari, marking its 250th victory in Formula 1 history.
