Lazio Transfer Market: Romagnoli’s Armband Is a Clear and Strong Indication

After a long back-and-forth, Romagnoli seemed set to leave Lazio. A lucrative contract in Qatar awaited him (a three-year deal worth six million euros per season). The deal with Al-Sadd was all but done, but suddenly, something went wrong.

The freeze on investments abroad due to the conflict completely changed the situation, so much so that the center back reported to Lazio’s training camp, placing himself under the guidance of new coach Gattuso. It seemed like he was just passing through, but he’s still there.

Gattuso’s presence (he worked with Romagnoli at Milan) is becoming a key factor in the future of the defender, born in 1995. The captain’s armband he wore in the friendly match against Avellino could mean a great deal and, in fact, confirm his decision to remain with Lazio for this season as well.

Gattuso holds him in high regard. Romagnoli is weighing all his options (rumors suggest that Atalanta is interested as well as from his former coach Sarri), but for now, staying at Lazio seems like the best solution.
