Turin Transfer Market: Milan Asked for a Midfielder
Torino is keeping a close eye on opportunities in the transfer market. One of these involves Alphadjo Cissé. Milan had signed him from Verona during the winter transfer window for a fee of around 8 million euros plus bonuses, then loaned him to Catanzaro, where the attacking midfielder found playing time and consistency in Serie B. However, a serious injury forced him to stop playing and end his season early. After completing his rehabilitation with Milan, Cissé recently returned to the field in friendlies against Celtic and Inter.
Urbano Cairo’s club has requested the 2006-born player on loan, and Milan is open to discussing the deal—but only on a temporary basis and without an option to buy. The Rossoneri are, in fact, banking on the young player and do not intend to set a price at this time for a potential permanent transfer. Under Abate’s guidance, the youngster could find playing time in the attacking midfield and gain experience in Serie A, while remaining under Milan’s control.
This approach by the Rossoneri is consistent with how they manage their most promising talents. In the same winter transfer window in which Cissé was acquired from Hellas Verona, Milan had in fact opted for a similar approach with Kevin Zeroli, who was loaned to Juve Stabia: young players to be developed gradually, with the certainty of keeping them firmly within the club’s technical plans.
Born in Treviso to a family originally from Guinea, Cissé came up through the youth academies of Giorgione and Verona, particularly distinguishing himself with the Gialloblù Primavera team. In May 2024, he made his Serie A debut, while his journey with the Italian youth national teams took him all the way to the Under-21 squad.
However, he is not the only player on Torino’s radar this summer transfer window. In fact, Torino must also contend with interest from Rome for Alessio Cacciamani, a winger born in 2007 who has caught the Giallorossi’s eye. Roma had submitted an offer of approximately 10 million euros plus bonuses, but the Piedmont-based club deemed it insufficient, valuing the young player at around 20 million. Urbano Cairo has publicly reiterated his determination not to easily part with one of the most promising talents in the club’s youth system, highlighting the player’s progress and the positive experience he gained at Juve Stabia. Once again, the good relationship established with coach Ignazio Abate is a factor that could help keep him at the Granata.
