2026-27 Serie A: How Milan Would Line Up Today

Milan makes its Serie A debut on Sunday night on the road against Torino, and could do so with several new faces. The recent transfer summit between Ruben Amorim and owner Gerry Cardinale has led to a change in direction, and more signings could be on the way soon.
Amorim is reportedly planning to field a 3-4-2-1 formation against Torino: Maignan would start in goal if he regains his fitness in time after returning late from vacation; otherwise, young Torriani will get the start. In defense, new signing Mario Gila—who arrived from Lazio—is set to make his debut from the start, alongside De Winter and Pavlovic.
On the right wing, Chukwueze is expected to start, while Diego Moreira—who just arrived from Strasbourg—could already be in the lineup on the left. There are several options in midfield: Modric, Jashari, and Rabiot (who returned later due to the post-World Cup break) are vying for the two spots in the midfield.
Gonçalo Ramos, who arrived from PSG for 75 million euros, will be the center forward, supported in the attacking midfield by Loftus-Cheek and Saelemaekers: both Pulisic and Leao are currently unavailable.
Milan’s possible lineup (3-4-2-1): Maignan; Gila, De Winter, Pavlovic; Chukwueze, Modric, Rabiot, Diego Moreira; Loftus-Cheek, Saelemaekers, Ramos.
Diego Moreira, who could make his starting debut on the left wing, is the signing that has pleasantly surprised Rossoneri fans in recent days. The Belgian fullback of Portuguese descent, born in 2004, arrives from Strasbourg for approximately 45 million euros plus bonuses and a percentage of any future transfer fee. In his two seasons in Ligue 1, he has made 76 appearances across the league, the French Cup, and the Conference League, scoring 7 goals and standing out for his ability to play on both flanks and his strong attacking instincts. He has made four appearances for the Belgian national team so far, including one at the World Cup against Senegal.
