F1: Ferrari Plays Its Trump Card at Monza to Win in Memory of Schumacher

The 2026 Italian Grand Prix will take place on the weekend of September 5–6. There’s a lot of anticipation for this home race of the F1 World Championship. Every Ferrari fan’s dream remains the same: to see a Scuderia car win the Grand Prix and celebrate just as they did in 2024 with Leclerc’s triumph.

Ferrari wants to give the “Red Wave” a great weekend, and to do so, it has decided to play its trump card. In fact, the second evolution of the Maranello-based team’s Power Unit will make its debut at Monza. The goal? Simple: to have more horsepower to unleash on the straights and thus be able to better compete with Mercedes and McLaren.

As is well known, this edition of the Italian Grand Prix is dedicated to celebrating the 30th anniversary of Schumacher’s first victory at Monza (September 8, 1996). Winning is the Prancing Horse’s main goal; in fact, the team will line up with a brand-new, more powerful engine and the introduction of the second Aduo.

In short, there’s a strong desire to paint the Monza track red. Ferrari has won 20 times at the “Temple of Speed” (the team with the most wins overall), but this time, a victory would feel even more special. Both Leclerc and Hamilton know this all too well and are ready to do whatever it takes to take home P1 in the race. Leclerc has already won twice at Monza, while the seven-time World Champion has won five times—exactly like Schumacher (the two most successful drivers in Monza’s history).
