Napoli market, Antonio Conte inserts himself between Inter and Milan

Napoli is firmly back on Leon Goretzka, destined to be one of the most coveted zero-parameters next summer. On the midfielder due to expire in June with Bayern Munich (and oriented not to renew) there are not only several Premier League clubs and, in Italy, Inter and Milan, but also the Azzurri club.
According to Corriere dello Sport, sporting director Manna has reinstated the name of the 1995 class among the opportunities to be followed in view of the new season, although aware of the strong competition. Napoli’s interest is nothing new: already in January, Sky Germany had spoken of a concrete and significant proposal presented to the player, who had, however, decided to take time, putting both the Azzurri offer and those coming from England on hold, waiting for a possible signal from Barcelona and coach Flick.
Who arrived at Bayern in 2018 on a zero-parameter basis from Schalke 04, Goretzka has established himself as one of the team’s staples: a complete halfback with physicality, dynamism, and insertion skills, he has been instrumental in winning six Bundesliga titles and the 2019/20 Champions League. With his contract expiring and his future yet to be defined, he now represents an interesting opportunity for Conte’s Napoli as well, who are looking for experience and personality to refound their midfield.
At the same time, the Neapolitan club is working to retain Scott McTominay, under contract until 2028. “He still has two years left on his deal, there is a positive relationship with his agents and he has expressed a willingness to stay: we are talking about it calmly,” Manna said in recent days. Also according to the newspaper, the parties would be close to an agreement to extend for an additional two years. On the other hand, the situation related to Anguissa remains unresolved, complicit in the injury suffered in November with the national team.
