Juventus market, new contact to convince Bernardo Silva

Bernardo Silva to Juventus remains, for now, a fascinating suggestion that could turn into something concrete only if all conditions fall into place. According to a report in Tuttosport, there has reportedly been new contact between the Bianconeri management and the Portuguese midfielder, who will turn 32 in August and is oriented to leave Manchester City at the end of the season.

Through the intermediation of agent Jorge Mendes, Juventus is trying to gain ground in the preferences of the player, who is still under contract with the club coached by Pep Guardiola. Silva has taken the month of April to reflect on his future, which in all likelihood will be far from England (the climate in Manchester may also have affected the decision).

Among the options are another top European league, with FC Barcelona pressing hard, or a return to Portugal. Finally, more “exotic” solutions such as the MLS or the Saudi Pro League cannot be ruled out. To convince the Portuguese, the Bianconeri management (led by Comolli) will have to overcome the salary cap set with the renewal of Kenan Yıldız (7 million annually from July). Bernardo Silva currently earns about 10 million a season and is unlikely to consider offers of less than 8-9 million.

The operation would be more sustainable thanks to the possible zero-parameter arrival, but it will still have to be compatible with the tactical ideas of Luciano Spalletti, who could employ him as a trequartista or outside player in the 4-2-3-1, or opt for a more physical 4-3-3. Juventus, in any case, will proceed with caution: first they will focus on renewals (starting with Spalletti himself, then DuĊĦan Vlahović and Manuel Locatelli), and only then will they get into the thick of the incoming market.
