At 8:45 p.m., the Stadio Olimpico lights up for the big match between Roma and Atalanta. A challenge with a special flavor for Gian Piero Gasperini, who faces his Dea at a crucial moment in the race for fourth place. In fact, the Giallorossi, after Como’s defeat against Sassuolo, are aiming for a victory to overtake the Larians and momentarily hook Juventus, engaged tomorrow against Italiano’s Bologna, in fourth place. On the other side, Palladino knows that a success would bring Atalanta closer to Roma and the Champions zone; however, his lineup choices could be affected by the delicate return leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal against Sarri’s Lazio. After the 2-2 draw in the first leg, Wednesday’s challenge will be a real inside or outside to see who will go on to play the final in Rome.

Gasperini has to deal with a still crowded infirmary, in fact the absences of Koné and Pellegrini in midfield weigh heavily, as well as that of Dovbyk in attack. In defense Mancini returns alongside Ndicka and Hermoso. In the midfield, play will pass through the feet of Cristante and El Aynaoui, with Celik and Rensch on the flanks. In attack in support of Malen, the experience of Stephan El Shaarawy with the support of Soulè.

Palladino responds with the proven form. In front of Carnesecchi will act the trio Scalvini-Djimsiti-Kolasinac. In the midfield, the De Roon-Ederson pair will ensure substance, while on the flanks Zappacosta and Bernasconi will have the task of pushing the maneuver. Going forward, Krstovic ahead of Scamacca will be the central reference, with De Ketelaere and former Zalewski in his support.
