Carlos Sainz does not do as Felipe Massa: applauded

Sainz complimented on approach to Maranello.
The way Carlos Sainz entered Ferrari was highly appreciated in the environment. This was confirmed by the words of Rob Smedley, an engineer already on the payroll at Maranello, who expressed his feelings to the microphones of F1 Nation.
“The worst thing Carlos could have done would have been to come in and make a big statement, saying that he was going to beat Charles and win number one status,” he recounted. “If that doesn’t happen, the pressure just mounts on you and the task you have to do becomes almost insurmountable. When Felipe Massa started as an official driver in Ferrari, he made the big mistake of saying that he was going to catch up with Michael Schumacher. Not exactly a poor one.”
