The clear message from Gilles’s son

After having panned both Ferrari and Charles Leclerc after the flop in Azerbaijan, Jacques Villeneuve further argues his case on the immediate eve of the Canadian Grand Prix, scaling back his attack on the Monegasque slightly but still giving him advice he says is valuable.

“Leclerc is very little to blame for everything that’s going on – Villeneuve’s words in the column he personally edits for the Dutch portal formule1.nl -. Except for the mistake in Imola, he’s driving well. It’s logical that the last three races have caused him some frustration but he has to be careful: you win and lose together, a driver should never distance himself from the team.”

“Ferrari, however, has a problem – Gilles’ son pressed -. In Baku, three Ferrari-powered cars retired due to technical problems. Of course, Sainz’s was related to hydraulics but it is certainly no less dangerous since it prevents the brakes from working properly. In short, it is a disappointing phase but the car remains very fast and is good to drive. the championship will last a long time yet, the situation could turn around in an instant.”
