Inter market, does a new cycle start? Announcements on Bastoni and Pio Esposito, Palestra target

Inter got their hands on the 21st Scudetto but are already looking beyond, on how to renew the winning cycle. The Nerazzurri’s sporting director Piero Ausilio, at the Inside the Sport 2026 event in Coverciano, spoke first and foremost about Alessandro Bastoni, whom many rumors give as leaving in the summer, heading for Barcelona. “Bastoni has a contract with Inter and there are no situations such as to suggest Bastoni away from Inter. We are happy with him and we are sure he will still give a lot. If anyone is interested in him, call us, they know our phone numbers, and don’t talk,” are the clear words of the executive.
Leading the team in the coming years will always be Cristian Chivu, who is about to win the Scudetto in his first season: “Never thought we made a mistake with him, we believed in him so much. We needed to make a path and we also knew the human qualities of him. We knew it needed time and we needed to give patience, both in the environment and outside. The results speak for him. We have not yet thought about tactical changes in the market, the talks about the future we postpone to quieter times, now there are goals to be conquered.”
Among the possible signings of the summer is Palestra, who in an interview on the sidelines of the same event at Coverciano expressed himself as follows: “Me instead of Dumfries? I only think about Cagliari and Cagliari’s salvation. Our fans deserve it. Then there will be time for the rest.” These are Ausilio’s words on the player: “Palestra excellent player, right profile for many teams but Atalanta has vision for the project but I am sure he will be important, in the meantime for them then we will see on the market.”
Surely Inter will start again with Pio Esposito: agent Mario Giuffredi confirmed that in the future of the young striker there is only the nerazzurro. “He is fine at Inter, I think the will of the boy and the club is to be together for the next 10 years. Thinking about the market for him–unless it is Inter’s will, it is not a will that belongs to me or the boy. For me the market for Pio Esposito has never started and never will start, he is happy to stay at Inter and make his career there,” are the words taken from Sportmediaset.
