Alessandro Pajola will be back at Virtus Bologna’s disposal Sunday at Virtus Arena for the challenge against Pallacanestro Trieste. The bianconero captain has been out since late January because of an injury to the external meniscus in his left knee, which forced him to undergo surgery.

His absence was heavily felt in the second half of the season for the Black Vu (6.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in the league, 4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists in the EuroLeague), who now rejoin him ahead of the final sprint. Luca Vildoza and Matt Morgan remain out, however, with the latter closer to return. A total of eleven will be unavailable for the game against the Giulians, scheduled at 6:30 p.m.

These are the words of coach Jakovljevic on the eve of the match: “A high-level team awaits us, especially in the offensive half of the court: Trieste has talented players, capable of scoring but also of making their teammates score. The long department is composed of atypical, very dynamic players who are able to trouble opposing defenses both in the low post and by opening up the court and creating chances for open shots.”

“Our starting points will have to be discipline and defensive aggressiveness,” the Bologna coach explains, “especially against Trieste’s ability to run in transition, an aspect for which they are one of the best teams in the league. In general, we will need a lot of determination and aggressiveness on our part right from the start.”
