Marc Marquez returns to smiles: the world champion won the Sprint race of the Spanish Grand Prix, preceding in Saturday’s short race in Jerez his teammate Pecco Bagnaia and to Ducati VR46 rider Franco Morbidelli.

The race was made chaotic by the weather conditions: halfway through the race a downpour disrupted everything, forcing the riders to return to the pits to mount the bikes with wet tires. Paying dearly for the consequences were World Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi, who crashed in the finale, and Alex Marquez, who slipped when he was leading the Grand Prix.

Marc Marquez, overtaken by his brother during the first part of the race, had slipped before returning to the pits but was the most skillful of all then to change the bike and return to the lead.

The Ducati redeemed itself by placing three bikes in the first three positions. Fourth place for Brad Binder ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Raul Fernandez. In the top ten also Fabio Quartararo, seventh. Saturday to forget instead for Aprilia: Marco Bezzecchi, protagonist of a very bad start, then fell in the rain while Jorge Martin was forced to retire due to a brake problem.
