Rafael Jodar is amazed by Jannik Sinner

Spanish tennis rising star Rafael Jodar has qualified for the third round of a Masters 1000 for the first time in his career and is attracting the attention of colleagues, fans, and insiders for his impressive growth in recent months. Many are comparing the 19-year-old’s playing style to that of Jannik Sinner, and in a press conference after his clear victory over Alex De Minaur the young Iberian made just such a mention of the Azzurro.
“Jannik Sinner was watching the match? I didn’t really notice, I know it’s all going very fast as far as I’m concerned….” The Azure was immortalized as he followed closely during the match, “I try to focus on myself and the opponent in front of me.”
The Madrid crowd has already adopted him, “Seeing the Manolo Santana Arena full and people enjoying themselves fills me with joy. Now we need to train well and face the next match with the same mentality. It is great to play in a stadium that is almost full, with so many people coming for me.”
The next opponent is another young phenom, Joao Fonseca: “Joao is a tough opponent. Now you have to try to prepare well, try to play my game and be ready in case things don’t go well like today. Try to be solid in those moments and hope that everything goes like it did today against de Minaur.”
