Fiorentina and Sassuolo on a fast: no goals at the Franchi

Fiorentina-Sassuolo, 12:30 p.m. advance of the 34th day of Serie A, ends without goals at the Franchi. The hosts are more dangerous but waste several goal balls under the goal, also due to the excellent performance of the Emilians’ goalkeeper Turati. In the standings, Sassuolo remains tenth at 46 points, while the Tuscans are fifteenth at 37, +9 from third-last place with four days to go in the season.
Better for the Viola in the first half, but Vanoli’s team lacks concreteness and the first real chance is Emilian: at 10′ De Gea repels an insidious cross-shot by Garcia, after a ball previously lost by Dodò. At 21′ Turati overcomes himself on Gudmundsson’s backheel shot, at 32′ he is graced by Solomon who sends it out just a few steps away from the neroverdi’s goal.
The start of the second half is still in the Viola brand: Fiorentina almost doubles at 50′ with Gudmundsson, again Turati is good and a few minutes later he repels Dodò’s right-footed shot in the dive. The guests do not resign themselves to conceding and at 59′ Pinamonti hits the post on Laurienté’s cross.
In the final part of the match the Viola pushes and creates chances but is unlucky: at 73′ again Turati stands out on Gudmunsson, shortly after Fagioli tries from afar with a shot on the turn and sends it out just wide. The result did not change until the triple whistle.
