Milan, Ivan Gazidis’ farewell official: his touching farewell
A farewell after four years practically exactly.
AC Milan announced Wednesday that Ivan Gazidis’ contract will end on Dec. 5, 2022. The news was made official via a note that can be read on the Rossoneri club’s website.
“Ivan Gazidis,” the Milanese company recalls, “joined AC Milan as CEO in December 2018 and has led the club through a period of growth and modernization, both inside the pitch and for other business-related activities.
“I am leaving AC Milan after four wonderful and challenging years,” said Ivan Gazidis, as quoted in the note published by the company. I owe so much to this Club, its people, its fans and this city, which I am convinced have literally saved my life.”
“If today’s Milan is in a better position than when I arrived, it is entirely due to the work of all the people who have surrounded me: from the ownership, to our President, to our coaches, technical staff, sporting directors, our players, every boy or girl who dreams in our Academies, our scouts and analysts, medical staff, our management team, and all the extraordinary colleagues and collaborators who give everything for Milan,” Gazidis stressed. “I will shortly leave my responsibility in the Club, but the Club will always remain within me.
“Gazidis,” Milan further explained, “will remain fully operational in his role as CEO until the end date of his contract, and the Club will notify his successor as soon as possible.
