Jonathan Rea restarts as best he could. The Superbike world champion dominated at Phillip Island, taking a well-deserved victory in both race 1 and race 2 and shooting straight to the top of the standings.
After a first race in which the British rider withstood the assaults of Davies and van der Mark, second and third at the finish, Rea and his Kawasaki repeated themselves in the second run.
The world champion dueled no holds barred with Davies who, to try to put his own wheel in front, took an exaggerated risk on the last lap and crashed, effectively leaving the way clear for the Kawasaki. Behind the reigning champion then came van der Mark and Davide Giuliano, who was good at mocking Hayden in the finale.
